Welcome to the Metamorphosis Fuchsia Gardens Home Page. This is our first attempt at introducing ourselves to the people of the world. We specialise in Fuchsia's. Nothing else. It is all that we do. We provide a number of services to our clients. As you can see we are now providing a Home Page on the World Wide Web. This will provide you, our clients, with another avenue for ordering your Fuchsia's, getting advice or just chatting about the world of fuchsia's. It is our aim that we will respond to all emails within a few days of getting them. If we don't know something then we have no problems going to find out. Everything about Fuchsia's is interesting. About Metamorphosis Fuchsia Gardens.We have been growing Fuchsia’s for more that 30 years. Over the years we have purchased many plants through mail order. We had difficulty obtaining high quality established plants through mail order as most of the mail order Fuchsia’s we received were essentially rooted "cuttings". Our success rate was relatively low in getting them to turn into thriving plants. We believe that the mail order purchaser does not have to put up with the poor success rate we experienced as we can see no reason why a more established plant can not be sent through the mail. When we did have access to small Fuchsia’s we were frequently frustrated by the lack of the variety names on the plants. Keen collectors want to know the name of the specific variety and more details about its history and growth. A significant number of plants are sold with the generic name "Fuchsia" on the label. We believe that the Fuchsia purchaser does not have to put up with un-named plants as we can see no reason why a plant can not be correctly named. We started commercial operation in 1992 to provide small Fuchsia plants, through a mail-order type service, to people who did not have ready access to a specialist Fuchsia Nursery. We also maintain a normal retail specialist Fuchsia Nursery operation for the sale of larger plants. We do not just specialise in Fuchsia’s, we only grow and sell Fuchsia’s. The Fuchsia’s we send by mail are established plants in 3" (75 mm) tubes. Before they are sent to our customers each plant is checked to ensure that it has a established root system. This is done when we pack them, as we take them out of the tubes for packing. If a plant does not have an adequate root system it is not sent. Our objective is to provide quality plants. As it takes some time to establish plants, we sometimes ask that our customers wait a little longer for the plant to reach our minimum requirements prior to dispatch. This usually only happens when a plant has been very popular in a season. We would sooner make you wait then send you an inferior plant and then have to replace it. We usually dispatch with in a short time of the Order being placed. We do not dispatch plants during the height of summer (mid December to mid March) as it is too hot for the plants in the delivery trucks. Prior to dispatching plants we contact our customer to ensure that they are ready to take delivery of their plants. They need to have pots and potting mix available when the plants arrive.
